Domperidone, sold under the brand name Motilium among others, is a medication used as an antiemetic, gastric prokinetic agent, and galactagogue. It may be taken by mouth or rectally, and is available as a tablet, orally disintegrating tablets, suspension, and suppositories. The drug is used to relieve nausea and vomiting; to increase the transit of food through the stomach (by increasing gastrointestinal peristalsis); and to promote lactation (breast milk production) by release of prolactin.It is a peripherally selective dopamine D2 receptor antagonist and was developed by Janssen Pharmaceutica.Domperidone API helps to reduce symptoms of stomach problems such as nausea, bloating, vomiting, used to treat slowed movement in the gastrointestinal tract associated with diabetes and gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining).
